Earlier this month, Sky made an announcement regarding changes to its TV channel lineup. The anticipated update, set to go live soon, will see the discontinuation of Sky Showcase and Sky Max channels on Tuesday, February 24. However, to compensate for this change, Sky is reintroducing the beloved Sky One channel.
Subscribers can look forward to a plethora of engaging comedy and entertainment programs on Sky One, including the debut of new shows like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby. Additionally, familiar favorites such as Rob & Romesh Vs., The Paper, and Ted will be part of the lineup.
Sky One is also set to host the eagerly awaited Saturday Night Live UK later this year. Carli Kerr, the Managing Director of Sky TV & NOW, expressed excitement about the channel’s revival, emphasizing its focus on providing a unique and vibrant viewing experience with a blend of brand-new Sky Originals and returning hits.
The launch of Sky One is scheduled for tomorrow, February 24, on channel 106. Alongside this channel introduction, Sky has revealed plans for a new offering called Ultimate TV, available for £24 per month. This package includes access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app, along with over 130 premium channels like Sky Comedy and Sky Documentaries.
Moreover, subscribers to the Ultimate TV plan will enjoy a dedicated Disney movie channel integrated into the TV guide, allowing seamless access to Hollywood hits without the need for the Disney+ app. The £24 plan encompasses a range of services, including Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads starting in March, HBO Max Basic with Ads debuting on March 26th, Hayu with selected shows available from March, and a vast selection of Sky channels.
This comprehensive offering aims to enhance the viewing experience for customers, providing convenience and value through a diverse range of entertainment options.
