iPhone users are advised to check their device’s Settings today and ensure they have updated to the latest operating system, iOS 26.3. Apple has officially released this update, highlighting it as containing “essential bug fixes and security enhancements.”
Once installed, iOS 26.3 addresses a total of 39 vulnerabilities, with one of them classified as a zero-day threat. The zero-day designation indicates that malicious actors might have identified and potentially exploited this vulnerability in the wild.
Apple acknowledged this issue in a recent update on its support page, stating, “Apple is aware of reports suggesting that this vulnerability may have been used in highly sophisticated attacks against specific individuals using iOS versions preceding iOS 26.”
While keeping devices updated is always recommended, the urgency of this particular release stems from the critical nature of the identified vulnerability. Additionally, various other security flaws in apps and services have been resolved in this update.
To ensure your iPhone is running the latest software version, navigate to Settings – General – Software Update.
Within the Software Update section, you should locate the option to download iOS 26.3. It is advisable to perform the update using a Wi-Fi connection and keep in mind that your iPhone will need to restart, so avoid updating if you are expecting important calls or messages.
