Tragic Crash on A55 Highway: Man Killed in Collision

A fatal crash led to the closure of the A55 highway for several hours. The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning in the eastbound lanes at Halkyn. The A55 was shut down in the eastbound direction at the Caerwys junction for approximately seven hours.

According to authorities, a man lost his life in the single-car collision involving a Ford Ranger pick-up at junction 32 on the eastbound carriageway of the A55. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the male driver was declared dead at the scene.

Detective Sergeant Katie Davies from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit expressed condolences to the man’s family and friends during this challenging period. The investigation is ongoing, and individuals with information or dash cam footage of the incident are urged to come forward.
