Dell has reversed its decision from a year ago to discontinue the XPS brand, following criticism from tech experts and consumers. The company has acknowledged its mistake and is reintroducing the XPS lineup, promising an enhanced user experience.
The revamped Windows 11 laptops feature a fresh design with premium materials like aluminum and Gorilla Glass 3 for durability and sophistication. Dell has made significant improvements to the keyboard for better stability and reduced accidental key presses, complemented by a sleek glass touchpad merging seamlessly into the palm rest. The redesign focuses on enhancing portability by reducing weight and thickness.
The new XPS 14 and XPS 16 are now Dell’s thinnest laptops ever, measuring only 14.6mm in thickness. These models boast a reengineered 4K webcam, the slimmest 8MP camera integrated into a laptop by Dell.
Performance has been elevated with Intel’s latest Ultra processors, offering faster speeds, enhanced graphics capabilities, and improved efficiency. A revamped thermal system ensures optimal temperature control even during intensive tasks. The introduction of Intel Arc graphics with 12 cores promises a 50% performance increase over the previous generation.
The laptops feature high-density 900ED cells that provide up to 27 hours of battery life on a single charge, supporting the vibrant displays throughout the day. Other notable features include edge-to-edge touch displays, powerful Dolby Atmos speakers, and a variety of ports for connectivity.
During the CES 2026 announcement, Dell emphasized the return of the XPS 14 and XPS 16, highlighting their premium design, powerful performance, exceptional displays, and extended battery life in a compact and portable package.
