“Airport Lounge Discount Saves Travelers 50%”

Published:

After enduring a chaotic situation with noisy children and a lengthy four-hour flight delay at the airport last week, my partner and I opted to seek refuge in the airport lounge despite the initial cost. Surprisingly, we discovered that we were eligible for a significant discount, cutting the price in half.

Our journey from Tenerife to Scotland, scheduled to land at 11 pm, resulted in a late arrival home at 4 am due to the considerable delay. Fortunately, my partner’s membership with Monzo Premium provided us with the discount perk, which we were unaware of earlier.

The Montaña Roja VIP Lounge charged €44 per person, totaling €88 for both of us. Although the cost seemed steep, it proved to be a worthwhile investment to avoid the chaos of children running wild and screaming in the airport terminal.

Ultimately, we paid approximately £48 in total, reducing the expense to £24 each, saving us half the original price, much to our delight. The lounge amenities included complimentary WI-FI, shower access with towels provided, and unlimited food and beverages, including alcoholic drinks.

According to information shared on the Monzo Help page, Monzo has partnered with LoungeKey to offer discounted access to over 1,100 airport lounges globally for Monzo Premium and Monzo Max members. The flat fee for lounge access is £24 per person per visit.

Although we did not pre-book our lounge visit, Monzo advises that some lounges allow pre-booking, which may incur an additional fee of at least £6 on top of the discounted price. It is important to note that customers must have their physical Monzo card for the initial visit, although providing the card number may also suffice.

For those planning their next holiday destination, consider the comfort and convenience of an airport lounge. Share your thoughts in the comments below.
