LG TV owners are in for a treat this holiday season with a significant update to the LG Channels platform. The tech giant from Korea has enhanced its platform with new features and additional free content, including shows from Sky.
The recent update, which has started rolling out, allows select LG screens to access Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without requiring a subscription. Additionally, LG has included the Sky News channel to expand its free content offerings.
Moreover, the update introduces more content like LG1 Christmas for festive programming, the FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and the DP World Tour for golf fans. These new channels, like all LG Channels, are FAST services, meaning viewers will encounter advertisements during programs.
Aside from new channels, the upgrade brings broader enhancements such as personalized content recommendations and a revamped user interface for easier and quicker content discovery.
A new “Quick Access” feature enables viewers to press the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a show to instantly access channel information, the TV guide, favorites, and popular content.
