“Woman Admits Poisoning Dogs, Accused of Serial Killings”

Published:

A woman labeled as a “psychopath” has admitted to poisoning 10 dogs while fine-tuning the levels of poison she intended to use for a killing spree.

A 65-year-old man passed away after consuming a “toxic bean stew,” falling ill at home and later seeking treatment in a hospital. Authorities suspect foul play in the death of Neil Correa da Silva, suggesting it was not just a case of food poisoning.

Allegedly, his daughter and another woman, Ana Paula Veloso, conspired to murder him with poison and frame an innocent person for the act. The victim and his daughter had a strained relationship, and on the night of the incident in Baixada Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, both women were present at the property.

Law enforcement officials claim that Veloso is also linked to three other deaths, earning her the label of a “serial killer.”

Veloso reportedly confessed to killing 10 dogs to experiment with the poison’s timing and dosage that she planned to administer to the victim, aiming to make his death appear unrelated to poisoning.

According to Police Chief Halisson Ideiao, Veloso meticulously planned the killings and was not impulsive in her actions.

Investigators discovered terbufos, a rat poison slightly less potent than lead, in Veloso’s residence. Text messages exchanged between Veloso and da Silva’s daughter, Michele Paiva da Silva, a 43-year-old bus driver and law student, allegedly discussed their plot to poison the elderly man.

The conspiracy allegedly involved Veloso’s twin sister Roberta, who is accused of providing both practical assistance and moral support. Michele purportedly paid Veloso R$4,000 (£560) to travel to Rio and carry out Neil’s murder, along with three other individuals between January and April of the current year.

Neil passed away on April 26 at the Adao Pereira Nunes Municipal Hospital, and authorities plan to exhume his body for further forensic examinations.

Furthermore, Veloso is accused of trying to frame an innocent person by pretending to be a victim of a similar poisoning attempt.

Police investigations revealed that Veloso tried to deceive by claiming someone had targeted her with poison, portraying herself as a victim when she was instead identified as a serial killer.

The police chief emphasized that Veloso was not a victim but a perpetrator who attempted to manipulate the situation by framing an innocent individual with a poisoned cake incident.
