“Gang Leader Plunges to Death in Dramatic Police Chase”

Published:

Newly released video footage captures the dramatic moment when a notorious gang leader falls to his death while attempting to evade law enforcement.

In a daring escape bid from police, the Tren de Aragua gang kingpin tragically plunged from a balcony during the pursuit. Ender Alexis Rojas Montan, 31, was identified as a key figure in the Alayon Dynasty faction of the infamous gang before meeting his fatal demise. The shocking incident unfolded as he plummeted eight floors from an apartment building, succumbing to the impact as shown in the video.

On October 9, Colombian National Police officers raided a property in Antioquia where Rojas Montan was located, prompting his desperate attempt to flee. Body camera footage reveals the moment officers breached the door with a battering ram, leading to Montan’s ill-fated decision to try slipping through the balcony railing.

Instead of a successful escape, the gang leader lost his grip and fell to the ground below, witnessed by an officer who captured the chilling aftermath. The scene involved at least five armed officers executing the raid, instructing the suspect to surrender.

Additional individuals were found within the premises during the operation. Contraband items, including a grenade fragment and a substantial amount of amphetamine valued at $9,550 (£7,110), were confiscated. Three other suspects believed to be associated with the criminal organization were apprehended at the scene.

Rojas Montan, wanted internationally for aggravated kidnapping and linked to the Venezuelan-based Tren de Aragua gang, had been evading authorities since relocating to Colombia from Chile in June 2024. Reports indicate he was overseeing the gang’s expansion efforts in the Aburra Valley region, home to approximately four million residents.

The joint operation, named Operation Shadow 3, conducted in October, involved collaboration between Colombian, Chilean, and Peruvian authorities, with support from the US Drug Enforcement Agency and Ameripol. The surviving suspects were allegedly involved in managing various criminal activities for the gang, including drug distribution, extortion, and exploitation operations.
