“Freeview Adds New Movie and Kids’ TV Channels”

Published:

If you own a Freeview television set, now is an ideal moment to ensure it is fully updated and retuned. Recently, two new channels have been introduced to the free-to-view platform, offering movies and kids’ TV content.

One of the new channels is wedotv Movies UK, transitioning from an online service to a full over-the-air channel. This enables all households to access the channel, even those without internet-connected TVs. The channel features a lineup of back-to-back films, including popular titles like One-Eyed Jacks, Willow Creek, and The Way.

Additionally, a new channel catering to younger audiences, called Cartoon Classics, can now be found on channel 214. This channel offers classic animated shows such as The Smurfs, Count Duckula, Sonic X, and Leo & Tig.

To enjoy these new channels on your TV, it is recommended to ensure your settings are up to date. Freeview has announced upcoming changes on October 22, 2025, prompting users to retune their devices to keep their channels and TV Guide current. Furthermore, an existing service, Gems TV on channel 45, will be rebranded as Gemporia.

Freeview has provided instructions on how to retune devices, which include pressing the menu button on the remote control, selecting options like ‘set-up’ or ‘installation,’ choosing ‘first-time installation,’ and saving any found channels during the retuning process.

Freeview emphasizes that channel offerings are dynamic, with channels frequently updating their lineup. The platform aims to provide audiences with diverse and engaging content options.
