Former Conservative Aide Found Guilty of Bullying Colleague

Published:

A recent official parliamentary investigation has uncovered that a former Conservative aide, who switched allegiance to the Reform party during the Tory conference, engaged in bullying and harassment towards a colleague. Robbie Lammas, who previously served under then-party chairman Richard Holden MP, was found guilty of bullying by Parliament’s Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme (ICGS). Reports indicate that Lammas intimidated a junior staff member and unprofessionally demanded a hug following a heated confrontation last year.

The investigation concluded that Lammas misused his position of authority, resulting in the colleague feeling vulnerable, upset, undermined, humiliated, and threatened, fostering an intimidating and hostile work environment. Witnesses reported instances where Lammas raised his voice, made false accusations against the staffer, and threatened termination, claiming he had fired numerous former employees and was not hesitant to do so again.

Lammas, who previously held roles as a special adviser in the Conservative Government and at CCHQ, publicly announced his move to Reform UK during the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester. Since his defection, he has faced allegations of inappropriate conduct from multiple former colleagues. One former staff member alleged instances of sexual harassment and revealed that Lammas had accessed female staff members’ addresses on VoteSource, the party database, and sent them cards to their homes. Another individual described Lammas as unprofessional and linked his departure to incompetence.

In response to the accusations, Lammas staunchly denied any wrongdoing, asserting that the complaint was orchestrated by CCHQ and Richard Holden, with whom he had disagreements following his defection. Reform UK has been contacted for a statement regarding the matter.
