Initially hesitant to pass on the gavel, Judge Judy disclosed in the trailer that she wasn’t keen on encouraging her son to take on the show years ago, jokingly expressing reluctance as she wasn’t ready to give up her position. The new series, premiering on September 14 and executive produced by Sheindlin, is a successor to the original “Judge Judy,” which concluded its successful 25-season run five years ago, captivating millions of viewers per episode.
